Salary Information For Interior Decorators

The average salary for interior decorators is $43,000, but the typical range is between $35,000 and $54,000. Your education, experience and skills are all factors that determine the salary.

How to Write an Extraordinary Resume for an Interior Decorator

It's not unlikely to see most people confuse interior decorators and interior designers. While these two have a few similar roles, their careers are completely different, so the resumes should also be different.

An interior designer focuses on the safety and functionality of a building and not just the aesthetics of the space. The main role of an interior decorator is to ensure that the interior of a building or room is aesthetically pleasing by selecting the right furniture, color schemes, paints and lighting.

An interior decorator resume should showcase your creativity and skills and list the previous projects you've worked on to show your client you are the best person for the job.

Format And Layout of Your Resume

The format of your resume depends on your qualifications.

If you've worked on many projects before and have a lot of experience, the reverse-chronological format is the best choice for you. The functional resume is great for newbies in the industry who don't have a lot of experience but have the required skills. A combination resume is an excellent option if you have a perfect blend of experience and skills.

As a decorator, you may not want to have a plain resume without color and a beautiful design but be careful not to overdo it. Ensure that the important information is appropriately highlighted so that the recruiter doesn't miss it.

The structure of your interior decorator resume should have the following sections:

  • The header section
  • Resume summary/resume objective
  • Work experience
  • Education section
  • Skill section
  • An additional section (interests, volunteer work, languages, awards/honors, computer skills and certifications)

You can also check out our interior designer resume.

Begin Your Interior Decorator Resume with the Header

The first part of your resume is the header, and it contains the following information:

  • Your full name
  • Job title
  • Phone number
  • Professional email address
  • Location
  • A link to your portfolio or website.

Before sending your resume to the recruiter, check this section to ensure there are no errors. If your contact information is incorrect, you'll miss out on the opportunity because the recruiter cannot reach you.

What’s a Rich Text element?

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
